Ma Tranquillité, built in 1910 by the Lyon architect named Charles Roux-Meulien, is characterized by its "art nouveau" style, atypical of the region. The floors, like the Hungarian carpentry and windows, were designed and manufactured exclusively for this house, thus giving it a special charm … mixing sophistication, elegance, and subtlety in a place filled with light, warmth set in a rich country atmosphere.
The Maréchal family, patrons of Mr. Roux-Meulien were the original owners. They were rich industrialists from Lyon, were famous for having developed the rubber fabric in France. They sought to make this 3 hectare property a place for rest and restoration … hence the name "Ma Tranquillité" (My Peace).
After the 1960’s, it was purchased by an industrialist family from Thiers … the Mallinjoud family. This family added an indoor swimming pool, improved kitchen and BBQ. We inherited the property. Now it belongs to us by inheritance.
